12 Weeks!

This is the first picture Pete took tonight! He's getting good at getting these pics :)
How far along:  12 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a lime!
Total weight gain/loss: I gained another ½-1 pound this week… So about 1.5-2 pounds gained, but still a “net loss” of 5 ish pounds
Maternity clothes: No, although I have noticed some pants getting a bit tight in their waistband/on my abdomen.  I’m not really showing or anything, but I think my size/shape must be gradually changing a bit there :)
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I am still napping when I can… I’m struggling to actually sleep through the night, but that’s mainly from waking up to go to the bathroom! 
Exercise:  At the beginning of this week I was feeling a LOT better and decided I’d go to the Y the next day… and the next day I was back to feeling sick and have been ever since :( Boo!
Best moment last week: I had a good Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, in terms of little to no nausea!  I was able to eat regularly :) That was a nice change of pace!
Movement: It’ll probably be a while before I feel the movements, but I’m sure Junior is wiggling and moving!
Food cravings/aversions: Pretty much anything I eat upsets/hurts my stomach 
:( Really struggling with meat… Saltines and ginger ale have helped some this week, but not a ton…
Other symptoms: Dizziness, but I’ve had that since week 4 or 5 I think
Gender: No idea! :)
Labor signs:  Nada
Belly button: As innie as can be!
Weddings rings: On! In fact, they’ve been feeling looser as I’ve lost weight
What I miss: Being active… feeling normal! haha
What I am looking forward to: It was really nice to be able to eat normally earlier this week – a nice treat, I guess… Looking forward to that being the norm again
Weekly Wisdom: Don’t assume that you’ll feel good the next day… So, for example, if you feel well enough to work out (or clean, or whatever) go ahead and do it then! Don’t wait for the next day… Because, like me, you could wake up sick again the next day!

I was laughing so hard by the end that tears were streaming down my face! This is... The real me, I guess :)

11 Weeks!

Poster & picture done after 11PM... So not the best, but it'll do! :) 
How far along:  11 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a Brussels sprout!  Junior is apparently also developing fingernails, hair follicles, etc... And his/her fingers and toes are no longer webbed! YAY :) hehe
Total weight gain/loss: As of yesterday morning, I’ve lost around 6 pounds since I got pregnant, which means I gained back a pound.  Thankfully the weight loss seems to have leveled off.  Although the nausea has been in full swing this week, Pete is really good at getting me to eat!
Maternity clothes: Not yet! Technically I wore a maternity shirt today, but it’s something like a size small…. I purchased it/was given it in a smaller size so I could wear it when I’m not pregnant :)
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I’ve been napping as much as I’m able… I’ve started having trouble falling asleep/staying asleep.  I’m not totally sure why – although I think one factor is that I’m clenching/grinding my teeth at night :( I am still feeling really tired like I was at 4-5 weeks again. 
Exercise:  Still nada – looking forward to feeling better… Soon, I hope??
Best moment last week: Getting whistled at by teenage skater boys? Little did they know I was 10.5 weeks pregnant, I’m married, and I have like a decade on them! Haha :)
Movement: Nope! We did see the baby wiggling all around on the ultrasound though!
Food cravings/aversions: Pretty much anything I eat upsets/hurts my stomach :( Still struggling to eat meat – I ate boneless chicken wings last night and REALLY regret it… Still really enjoying carbs… haha! Looking forward to eating fruits & veggies again!
Other symptoms: I’ve had some headaches, but I think they’re from not eating/drinking enough… So I’m trying to work on that! 
Gender: No idea! :)
Labor signs:  Nada

What I am looking forward to: Eating…
Weekly Wisdom: Eat and drink before going to the store… I went to Walmart with my mom on Tuesday afternoon and had only had a little bit of water and some saltines… I ended up almost passing out – as in, I was feeling lightheaded, my vision had blacked over and I couldn’t hear anything!  Thankfully my mom was with me.  She led me to a bench and went and got me a drink.  It was scary, though!  I probably won’t be going to the store by myself very often anymore…


Adding after the fact: I slept more than 12 hours overnight on Friday! WOW!

10 Weeks!

When I put this outfit together, Pete told me I looked skinny... Best husband ever! :)
How far along:  10 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a cherry!
Total weight gain/loss: As of this morning, I’ve lost 7 pounds since I got pregnant.  Thankfully the weight loss at least slowed down some.
Maternity clothes: Not yet!
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I took a nap on Thursday… A long one!  I think like 3.5 hours… And on Friday I took a nap for 2.5-3 hours… I am feeling really tired like I was at 4-5 weeks again.
Exercise:  Still nada – looking forward to feeling better… Soon??
Best moment last week: Telling the world!  So exciting to have people celebrating with us… And to be able to talk about it, versus trying to hide it :)
Movement: Nope! We did see the baby wiggling all around on the ultrasound though!
Food cravings/aversions: Pete made fish sticks again on Thursday night – Blech! :) I’ve been craving Sparkle Cherry Laffy Taffy… It’s a giant cherry flavored Laffy Taffy with “sparkles” (like glittery sprinkles) on the top of it… It was my “go to” snack in grad school (with something salty like combos… Yeah, I ate super healthy in grad school ;) haha) and I’ve been craving it all week.  I’ve checked 4 different stores in town.  One more store here to check, then I may send Pete on a hunt in Geneseo ;)  I just remembered that we are celebrating my brother’s birthday on Saturday… He lives just a little ways away from the store where I would buy these… I think we’ll be making a detour on the way home!!
Just an update - didn't find it at that store... But discovered a store one town over that carries it and we went and bought some today!!!! YAYYYYYYY!!! :)




I’ve continued to deal with nausea this week – probably not as bad as before… Usually there’s at least sometime in the day when I can eat somewhat normally, even if it’s not the whole day.   I was able to eat mashed potatoes, a dinner roll, and roasted carrots tonight… YAY!
Other symptoms: Little headaches here and there, but nothing too bad… Just tons and tons of nausea!!  
Gender: No idea! :)

What I miss: Feeling normal :)
What I am looking forward to: Feeling normal? Haha…

9 Weeks!


How far along:  9 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a grape!
Total weight gain/loss: I lost 5 pounds in about a week… However, yesterday I felt better and was able to eat more.  The same is true tonight – so maybe I’m gaining some back
Maternity clothes: Not at the moment :)
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: Still tired, and I get so hot over night
Exercise:  Well, I went for a walk today! Yay :)
Best moment last week: Seeing Junior and hearing his/her heartbeat <3 so so precious! (167 bpm, if you’re curious)
Movement: Nope! We did see the baby wiggling all around on the ultrasound though!
Food cravings/aversions: I had been “craving” a KFC bowl, so Pete got me one on the way to our ultrasound :)
Other symptoms: Little headaches here and there, but nothing too bad… Just tons and tons of nausea!!  
Gender: No idea! :)
Labor signs:  Nada

Weddings rings: On!
What I miss: Feeling normal :)
What I am looking forward to: Announcing to EVERYONE on Sunday! :) So excited!

8 Weeks!

How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a raspberry!
Total weight gain/loss: As of today, I’ve lost 2.2 pounds :( Hello, morning sickness!  Thankful that it’s not more!
Maternity clothes: I’ve worn maternity jeans at home a couple times… Not because I *need* them yet, but just because they’re so much more comfortable with the stretchy waist!
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: Still tired
Exercise:  Ha… I feel like I’ve barely survived this week – haven’t even tried to be active!
Best moment last week: Telling the rest of my family!  It was so fun to see each of their reactions :) And it’s nice to have more people who know/understand
Movement: Nope!
Food cravings/aversions: I don’t want to eat ANYTHING… Blah! However, I did suddenly want nacho type food earlier this week.  I ate it – figured, if I’m hardly eating, I need to eat something when it sounds good.  I’ve also wanted a garbage plate ever since a friend posted a picture of one ha…
Other symptoms: Little headaches here and there, but nothing too bad… Just tons and tons of nausea!!  Today my headache is a bit worse, wondering if I’m dehydrated now :(
Gender: No idea! :)
Labor signs:  Nada

Weddings rings: On!
What I miss: Having any food taste good ha… Not being tired all. day. long.
What I am looking forward to: I’m looking forward to our first real appointment on March 4th!! :) Just a few days away! <3

7 Weeks!

(To be clear... We have no idea if it's a boy or girl - I just happen to have a lot of blue on! haha)
How far along:  7 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a blueberry!
Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs still – I have still been expecting a gain simply because of the change in my eating & exercise habits
Maternity clothes: I’ve worn maternity jeans at home a couple times… Not because I *need* them yet, but just because they’re so much more comfortable with the stretchy waist!  A pair of my skinny jeans have gotten rather tight in the waist. 
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I am still tired… Not napping every day, but I feel a lot better on the days I do nap… I’ve been having trouble falling asleep lately
Exercise:  Between nausea, tiredness, and other symptoms, I haven’t gone back to the Y since the day I found out I was pregnant (got nauseous working out that day)… I really need to try and go to at least walk or something
Best moment last week: This last week really wasn’t eventful…
Movement: Nope!
Food cravings/aversions: I desperately wanted hot sauce on my pizza last night haha :)
Other symptoms: Little headaches here and there, but nothing too bad

What I am looking forward to: I’m looking forward to telling my siblings! I can’t believe we’re telling them in 2 days… It’s finally here! And then I can’t wait for our first real appointment on March 4th!! :)

6 Weeks!

How far along:  6 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a pea!
Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs still – I was expecting a gain simply because of the change in my eating & exercise habits
Maternity clothes: I’ve worn maternity jeans at home a couple times… Not because I *need* them yet, but just because they’re so much more comfortable with the stretchy waist!
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I am still tired… Not napping every day, but I feel a lot better on the days I do nap… The last couple nights, I’ve woken up during the night and had trouble going back to sleep
Exercise:  Between nausea, tiredness, and such, I haven’t gone back to the Y since the day I found out I was pregnant (got nauseous working out that day)… I really need to try and go to at least walk or something
Best moment last week: Our first Valentine’s Day with our baby <3 So special to think that next year I will actually be taking care of this baby on this day :) :)
Movement: Nope!
Food cravings/aversions: I’ve found myself craving strawberry milk, but milk is upsetting my stomach! Ha! The last couple days I’ve been really craving Chinese food, egg rolls, etc… I think we’re gonna get some tonight!
Other symptoms: More of the same!

I had one at a local clinic, just to get some general info etc., but then I needed to pick my doctor and schedule it.  I can’t wait for March 4th!! :)
Weekly Wisdom: Um… I don’t feel like I have new wisdom to add… Except write things down from your pregnancy to be able to look back at them… You don’t have to do weekly like I am, but I think I’m going to really enjoy having this info to read in the future :)

5 Weeks!

How far along:  5 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of an appleseed!
Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs – I actually haven’t weighed myself in a few days… I probably should :) (I weighed myself at 5w, 2d and still no weight gain)
Maternity clothes: Don’t need any yet, but I sure own a ton! :) I can’t wait to wear them, but I’m sure enjoying the last weeks of high waisted skirts, etc
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I am still tired… Not napping every day, but I feel a lot better on the days I do nap
Exercise: I haven’t worked out in a couple weeks :( Crazy life… and then nausea kicked in… Sigh! I need to get back on that
Best moment last week: Telling Pete’s parents and sister & brother-in-law that we’re expecting!  It was so fun to watch it “click” for his mom… And to watch his dad tear up :) It’s just fun having more people who know, who can be praying for us, etc :)
Movement: Nope!
Food cravings/aversions: No cravings… But basically only being able to stomach carbs right now… buttered bagels, mashed potatoes, granola, crackers, etc… Lots and lots of nausea though! Woof…
Other symptoms: I’ve continued to have mild cramping here and there… from what I read, that’s normal – I sure hope so!

Weekly Wisdom: I am doing something my mom recommended… Keeping a few crackers next to my bed… I’m setting my alarm 15 minutes earlier than I need and then waking up and eating the crackers and laying in bed afterwards… It seems to help settle my stomach :)

I’M PREGNANTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I actually said this at Pete’s parents’ house after they looked at the picture we gave them :)

4 Weeks!

How far along:  4 weeks (technically 4 weeks, 3 days)
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a poppyseed! :) (Yes… Pete calls the baby “Junior” for now… He says if we find out the baby is a girl, then we’ll call her “Lil Miss”) Apparently Junior is 1/8 of an inch long and brain, spine, and circulatory system have started to form.  That’s hard for me to comprehend! :)
Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs
Maternity clothes: Don’t need any yet, but I sure own a ton! :) I can’t wait to wear them, but I’m sure enjoying the last weeks of high waisted skirts, etc
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I am tired ALL THE TIME! I’m already looking for to this afternoon’s nap and it’s only noon… I’ve also made a habit of falling asleep on the couch while Pete’s still awake, doing things.  He’ll wake me up to head into bed when he’s going to bed!  Crazy…
Exercise: I’m trying to stay active… Life has been crazy and I’ve been out of my routine anyways :( I went last week (the day I found out I was pregnant!) and definitely ended up nauseous and tired… I’m planning to go 2-3 times/week as I’m able… Hoping that will last!
Best moment last week: Finding out that I am pregnant! And sharing the news with my parents :) They were totally surprised – it was great!
Movement: Nope!
Food cravings/aversions: No cravings… Pete made fish sticks and I was done eating for the night as soon as I smelled them… And they are smelling up our freezer! Ugh! I tried one bite of a chili cheese dip (that we made) at a Superbowl Party and couldn’t eat any more…
Other symptoms: I’ve had mild cramping here and there… from what I read, that’s normal – I sure hope so!
Gender: No idea! :)

Wedding rings: On!
What I miss: Being able to stay up late haha
What I am looking forward to: Telling Pete’s parents, sister, and brother-in-law this weekend! J We’re giving both sets of parents a picture frame with the announcement (see pic below).  I’m also looking forward to our first real appointment! I had one at a local clinic, just to get some general info etc., but then I needed to pick my doctor and schedule it.  I can’t wait for March 4th!! :) And then for telling my siblings! (Everyone is traveling this month, so it has to wait until 2/23… ugh!)
Weekly Wisdom: I kept finding myself getting really sick after I ate… I realized I was drinking a lot after a meal and it was too much for my stomach to handle.  So, I’ve tried a couple times to not have a drink for a chunk of time after eating and it’s definitely helping!  (I know I’m super early to have any “wisdom”… Just sharing what I’ve found that works)

I’M PREGNANTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I just can’t believe it and want to shout it from the roof tops! Hehe :)
