16 Weeks!

How far along:  16 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of an avocado!
Total weight gain/loss: I’ve lost around 6.5 pounds, so I’m pretty much right where I was last week.  So, over the whole pregnancy I’ve lost about 7 pounds and gained back about .5 a pound.
Maternity clothes: I am still doing hair ties/bella bands on my smaller pants – I’m able to button and zip the pants I was wearing before I was pregnant.  That’s crazy!  I did try on some maternity bottoms this week and realized how much more comfortable they are :)  However, most of the ones I own are too big on me right now.  I have a few that fit that I’m going to start wearing, though :)
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: Still feeling tired pretty often, but not napping anymore (except maybe on the weekends! Haha)
Exercise:  My back is doing a lot better this week.  It starts to flare up after walking around 1 mile-ish.  I went to the Y on Monday and Tuesday.  The rest of the week, I was too busy to fit it in.  I did do a LONG shopping day with my mom on Thursday, which definitely was physically active – just not quite “exercise” :)
Best moment last week: I love hearing my nieces talk about the baby :) Tessa knows the baby is in my belly – that’s about all she knows :) Jocelyn and Natalie love to talk about if it’s a boy or girl and which they want it to be.  So fun!
Movement: I felt the “popping” feeling again this week.  And then one night I felt something that felt a little bit more movement like – it felt almost like something swiped at me inside of my abdomen.  Based on the baby’s size and how it felt, I think he/she must have been rolling over or something!
Food cravings/aversions: Nothing particular is standing out to me… I’ve really wanted sweets a few times this week, but I don’t feel like that’s out of the ordinary!
Other symptoms: I’ve noticed that my belly gets sore and/or I get cramps when I overdo it.  So, I’m trying to learn to take breaks/not do as much, etc.  My back still bothers me some – I’m not sure what all the deal is there, but it’s still a whole lot better than it was!
Gender: No idea! I have my suspicions, but I have no real reason to think one over the other :) On Tuesday, I’ll be scheduling the ultrasound appointment!!
Labor signs:  Nada
Belly button: As innie as can be!
Weddings rings: On!
What I miss: I don’t feel like I miss much right now…
What I am looking forward to: Our vacation… Finding out the gender…. Looking pregnant, not just chubby :)
Weekly Wisdom: I don’t feel like I have any weekly wisdom this week either… If you’re going to do a long, long shopping trip, plan breaks in there :)

15 Weeks!

How far along:  15 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of an apple!
Total weight gain/loss: I actually lost a little more this week I guess?? I’m somewhere between 6 and 7 pounds down from my pre-pregnancy weight… I don’t know at this point how that’s happening! I’m eating more and showing more… I’m sure this will change very soon :)
Maternity clothes: Still doing the hair tie trick or a bella band to keep my pants closed :) I think I’ll be doing that for a while! I can still wear all of my shirts, they just a little more fitted :)
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: Still feeling tired pretty often, but not napping anymore (except maybe on the weekends! Haha)
Exercise:  I went to the Y Monday-Wednesday.  I fell on Wednesday evening and hurt my ankle a little bit :( Then later on in the evening on Wednesday, I started having some significant lower back pain – we think either related to running at the Y earlier in the day or to the fall, so I took the day off on Thursday and Friday.
Best moment last week: I was so excited to jog a mile at the Y on Wednesday! It was broken up into a few laps at a time, but I did it nonetheless! Now I’m afraid it’s what made my back muscles flare up :( We’ll see….
But then THIS was really the BEST moment… (See next point)
Movement: I think I felt Junior move for this first time on Thursday night <3 When we went to bed, I was talking to Pete about how I wanted to feel movement, but hadn’t yet – it’s early still, etc… But, when he went to sleep, I wanted to try to feel the baby :) So, I laid very still and stayed quiet, I pressed on my abdomen some and then waited… I felt what felt like bubbles popping.  I wasn’t sure if that was it or not, so I repeated the whole process and I felt that popping feeling again!  When I told my mom today, she seems pretty convinced that was the baby :) YAY!!!! :) <3 <3
Food cravings/aversions: I still want fruit and fruit flavored things all the time!  And ice cream ;) haha… I had one nauseous day this week, so I switched back to basically only carbs for that day…
Other symptoms: Dizziness has still been in full swing this week
Gender: No idea! Can’t wait to find out, hopefully sometime in May!
Labor signs:  Nada
Belly button: As innie as can be!
Weddings rings: On!
What I miss: My pants buttoning! Haha :)
What I am looking forward to: Our vacation… Finding out the gender…. Looking pregnant, not just chubby :)

14 Weeks!


How far along:  14 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a lemon!
Total weight gain/loss: I’m still sitting right around 6 pounds lost, so I guess I stayed the same this week? Which is surprising because my appetite has come back… Maybe it’s because I’m walking again, too
Maternity clothes: Still doing the hair tie trick or a bella band to keep my pants closed :) I think I’ll be doing that for a while! I can still wear all of my shirts, they're just a little more fitted :)
Stretch marks: Nope! (to clarify – not any that I didn’t have prior to pregnancy haha)
Sleep: I’m sleeping pretty well, but I find that busy days leave me feeling just exhausted!  I’m just not really napping anymore when I probably should be haha
Exercise:  I went to the track on Sunday night to walk and then to the Y to walk Monday-Thursday! YAY :) (I did the bike a few times while I was there, too.) I had plans to go on Friday, but a migraine changed my plans :( Boo!
Best moment last week: Being active again and being able to eat more! In fact, I’ve been a lot hungrier this week haha
Oh also… One time Pete put his ear up to my abdomen to try to hear the heartbeat haha :) It was so precious and sweet <3 I think he’s connecting with the baby a little more now that there is a clear bump… At least it seems like it :)
Also, I have finally been able to take care of things at home again this week.  It feels great to have the dishes done before Pete gets home from work and to have things cleaned up, etc. 
Movement: Not yet, looking forward to feeling those flutters <3
Food cravings/aversions: Berries… Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, anything berry!  I had Pete get some raspberry Greek yogurt and then I added berries to it – such a yummy treat!
Other symptoms: Dizziness has still been in full swing this week, it’s a little weird that it came back so strong… But then I read that it’s common for the 2nd trimester? So… I guess I’m not worried.
Gender: No idea! Can’t wait to find out in a month or so :)
Labor signs:  Nada
Belly button: As innie as can be!
Weddings rings: On! In fact, they’ve been feeling a lot looser still
What I miss: My pants buttoning! Haha :)
What I am looking forward to: Our vacation… Finding out the gender…. Looking pregnant, not just chubby :)

Weekly Wisdom: As soon as you feel up to it, get back to being active and taking care of things, etc… You will feel so great to actually be productive again!

13 Weeks!

They were too small for me before I was pregnant!
How far along:  13 weeks
How big is the baby: Junior is the size of a peach!
Total weight gain/loss: I’m still sitting right around 6 pounds lost, so I guess I lost a bit again this week? Maybe ha
Maternity clothes: I have noticed that… my shape has changed, I guess.  My lower abdomen and belly are getting thicker, but my high/natural waist is smaller and my legs are smaller.  So, most of my regular pants are starting to feel tight in the waist.  I wore a bella band one day this week, used the hair tie trick a couple other days. 
However, I’m actually able to wear a smaller size pants than I could before I got pregnant – I’m wearing pants I haven’t worn since I was dating Pete! :) It’s uncomfortable to button them most of the time, but it’s uncomfortable to button my bigger jeans, too! So… I’m enjoying my growing pants wardrobe for the time being haha :)
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: I’m sleeping pretty well, but I find that busy days leave me feeling just exhausted!  I told Pete it’s because I’m tired for 2 people :)
Exercise:  I went to the gym twice this week!  I didn’t do a super intense workout because it seems like as I increase intensity, my nausea increases… But I exercised nonetheless! :)
Best moment last week: Hearing our baby’s heartbeat again and actually hearing the baby move around while getting the heartbeat :) Our midwife commented on how active this little one is! <3
Movement: It’ll probably be a while before I feel the movements, but I now know how much this baby is moving, thanks to the Doppler at my appointment! :)
Food cravings/aversions: Berries… Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, anything berry!  Maybe with some cool whip on top ;)
We went and got frozen yogurt on Friday night and I got lots of berries on top and cool whip… SO yummy and really satisfied that craving!
Last Friday, I was suddenly craving bbq pizza, thanks to a facebook friend posting a picture… So, we went to CiCi’s! :)
In case you couldn't tell... I'm finally getting my appetite back! YAY! :)
Other symptoms: Dizziness, somewhat of a head cold(?), and round ligament pain (which isn’t fun with the coughing/sneezing from the cold haha!)
Gender: No idea! :)
Labor signs:  Nada
Belly button: As innie as can be!
Weddings rings: On! In fact, they’ve been feeling looser as I’ve lost weight
What I miss: Being active… feeling normal! haha
What I am looking forward to: Getting over this sickness… I feel like my nausea started subsiding and then I got sick with this head cold! I just want to feel good haha :)
I’m also looking forward to our vacationnnnn!!!! :)

Weekly Wisdom: Don’t get sick when you’re pregnant! Haha :)
